Travel to your Holiday in Belgium

Walkers are naturally concerned for their environment and are increasingly worried about the impact of air travel on global warming and use of scarce resources. With the time taken up by airport security, the time saving compared with rail travel is small. Belgium is easily reached within a day by train from London, the Southeast and the Midlands.
If you need to travel to London, it makes much more sense to take an afternoon train to Brussels and spend the night there: much more interesting and cheaper than a night in a London hotel. The only extra cost is the price of your hotel.
Of course, you have total flexibility as to how you travel to your holiday, but for a relaxing journey from the very start, you need surface travel. From an Inter City train or a modern ferry you enjoy the scenery and slowly immerse yourself in another culture.
Stena Ferry
We offer a full range of surface travel options, allowing you to choose what suits you.

Please contact us if you want to buy a holiday without travel.
Please note that our financial protection scheme is not allowed to cover air travel and therefore we are unable to supply air travel as part of our holidays.

All non-air travel supplied by us as part of your holiday is, of course, fully protected.

Rail Only via Brussels
Eurostar Train
The easiest way to travel is by Eurostar through the Channel Tunnel. There are trains throughout the day to Brussels, which is well worth an overnight stay.
Unfortunately, Eurostar's pricing system means that you can only spend a maximum of 24 hours in Brussels before continuing your journey without incurring additional travel costs.
SNCB express train
All prices are based on second class travel throughout. You can upgrade to first class if you want. Please see our brochure or phone us on 01946 861652 for more information.
Rail & Sea
DFDS Ferry
Sail from Newcastle to Amsterdam, Hull to Zeebrugge, or from Harwich to Hoek van Holland with onward rail travel. The crossings from Hull and Newcastle are overnight only, that from Harwich operates by day and by night.
By Car
We offer inclusive prices for self-drive customers via Harwich to Hoek van Holland, either by day or overnight. We can also book you on the ferries from Hull and Newcastle as described above, as well as from Dover to Calais.
Extras

Sleeping Berth on Ferries

Accommodation must be booked when travelling overnight. Cabins with private facilities are offered on all ferry routes.
Cabin Berths

Meals on Ferries

You can now pre-pay your meals on board at a useful saving compared with shipboard prices.
Air & Rail
If you want to fly, there are services from most UK airports to Brussels, and there are also services to Charleroi. In the price table for each holiday there is the price including rail travel from either of these airports.

Brussels Airport has its own rail station, Charleroi is connected by a bus shuttle, for which you pay on the bus.

Please note that under current legislation there is no financial protection covering air tickets bought directly from an airline, including purchases from the airline's own website. This means that if the airline with which you are booked ceases to operate, you stand to lose your money.

You may be able to buy Scheduled Airline Failure Insurance separately, or it may, sometimes, be included with your travel insurance policy.
Add-ons to Private or Business Journeys
Equally, if you going to Belgium anyway, perhaps for a wedding or on business and want to spend a few days walking before returning to the UK, we will supply the rail tickets needed to get you to where you plan to take your walking break.
