| The Hostellerie la Claire Fontaine The Hostellerie la Claire Fontaine is a 4* hotel situated a short way out of the little town of La Roche-en-Ardenne. The hotel is one of the leading members of Logis de Belgique. Very comfortable, the hotel also has very attractive gardens. This hotel is new to our programme for 2013, but with its excellent facilities we expect it to be very popular. The owners, the Son-Renard family, will make you more than welcome during your stay. |
Some suggested walks for this holiday The Transardennaise Long Distance Path starts in La Roche and there is a huge range of other walks, through forests and along rivers, for all to enjoy. Walk 1. Climb out of La Roche towards the village of Hives. Walk through a mixture of forest and high open country to Beausaint, then return along the old Corpse Road (about 8 miles). Walk 2. Follow the Ourthe out of town to Cielle, then follow a forest stream uphill. Return via the Chapel of Ste. Marguerite and the nearby viewpoint, considered the finest in the area, before dropping down into La Roche (about 8 miles). Walk 3. Arguably the most attractive walk in the area! Follow the valley of the Ourthe upstream to Maboge. Continue to the pretty hamlet of Borzée and end along a road high above the river offering fine views over La Roche (about 8 miles). Walk 4. Walk to Vecpré and climb up to open hills high above the village. Through forest and then steeply down to the bottom of the valley. Follow the stream, then climb the side of the valley into open country. Walk via Beausaint back to La Roche (about 8 miles). |
